To help our customers reduce CO2 emission and energy consumption, we offer solutions based on for example virtualization, such as data center services on virtual machines. Virtualization enables energy and carbon savings on raw materials, production processes, logistic flows, and end-of-life disposal processes.

Also teleworking, videoconferencing, and mobile intranet and internet lead to significant reductions in transportation. And with our mobile technologies, you are able to monitor and meter your energy consumption and production.

Discover below our solutions or calculate immediately your saving with our calculators for teleworking and videoconferencing.

What's good for the environment is good for your business

Climate change is one of the major challenges of the 21st century, containing potential risk as well as business opportunities. As a leading provider of telecommunication services Belgacom is committed to playing an important role in preserving the environment and enabling the transition to a low-carbon society.

By 2020, we will reduce the carbon emissions of our Belgian operations by 70%, compared to our 2007 baseline. That's the equivalent of taking 55.000 cars off the road. Since the end of 2008, Belgacom operations run 100% on renewable electricity, making us the biggest buyer of renewable electricity in Belgium. We continuously seek to optimise our energy consumption. Actions taken in 2009 resulted in 1,4 million euro worth of yearly savings

At the same time, we will provide our customers with products and services that help them manage their own environmental footprint more efficiently. Our products and services can contribute to ways of living and working that are more efficient in terms of carbon emissions and energy consumption. In general, ICT can play an important role in our transition towards a greener economy. The GeSI/Climate Group Smart 2020 study demonstrates that through enabling other sectors to reduce their emissions, the ICT industry can reduce global emissions by as much as 15% by 2020 - a volume of carbon emission five times its own footprint in 2020. The focus will mainly be on transport and logistics, where carbon emissions keep growing.
